So, now you will have a good idea what Asperger Syndrome is and how it can affect your life. It does not need to end here because there are a number a support groups throughout the country that are there to help make your life less complicated and to direct to you the assistance that is most appropriate for your needs. You will find some of the more useful organisations that we have identified listed on the 'Useful Links' page together with some peoples personal accounts of their experience of Asperger Syndrome. If you have not already done so, have a go at the Asperger Syndrome Questionnaire. This test is designed to calculate the probability of you having an autistic spectrum disorder. People with AS tend to score 32 points or higher. If you still have concerns, we recommend that you speak to your parents or your family Doctor. If you choose to visit your Doctor, visit our 'Medical Support' page first. We have included in this page an introductory letter to give to your Doctor which will provide them with all the information they will require in order to refer you to the support you need. |
